This interactive Flash animation offers a guide to Alaskaland, an amusement park in Fairbanks, from the point of view of someone riding the train that circles the park—a virtual train-ride. I adapted promotional content supplied by the city of Fairbanks site, and stitched photos I took together to create a panoramic tour that captures the funky, rustic feel of this bit of roadside Americana. Each picture is a “stop” along the way, with a bit of information of the place in the park.
I used a drag method in Action Script, making sure there was a window of pause in the middle. Adding the train sound clip and colour-changing roll-overs to the buttons were last touches to the project.
