C.A.T. (Child Advancement Tool)
Interface Design
Photoshop CS

This was an interface design project. I was trying to create a tool that would help children learn to read. I chose the cat as the logo, and came up with an anagram that would fit the concept and the name. The idea was to have an electronic book, that would have books you could upload into the memory of the tool, with large buttons and simple pictures to help along learning. I wanted the design to be simple, large, and appealing to children. There would also be interactivity for each book, including games and options to listen, identify or read along, as well as copyright and author information for the parents. Each book would be completely downloaded to the memory of the tool, so there would be no need for always using the initial downloadable CDs or cartridges you could lose. My biggest challenge was trying to find something kids could identify with, and was something that they could keep coming back to, as well as helping them to advance into higher reading levels and reading actual books.
