This is the site for the newly-formed Washington Entertainment Industry Players Association. I am a big supporter of WEIPA’s efforts to drive the Motion Picture initiative in Washington which will make film-making cheaper for production companies.

The biggest challenge was the timeline of this project. They needed their site in less than two weeks, and they were really open to the design and working with their existing logo design. I took the ‘film’ idea of the logo, and discussed it with them, and did a several layout designs using that concept. I wanted to capture the idea of the website pages being a frame in a strip of film. I started with sketches, and then my contact person gave me the go-ahead to work on digital mock-ups. There was some small changes made to one of the mock-ups I did, and the layout was finished. The typeface was changed to a more conservative serif font, and then changed back to the more contemporary Century Gothic. The site was designed to have the home page easily updated, and the news sections to be easily updated from the web logging tool Blogger.com.

I continue to provide needed content updates to WEIPA, and design and technical updates are in the future.
